Experiencing Record Growth

As Sumner County continues to experience record growth, a local Gallatin business owner is keeping pace – professionally and personally. Rocky Baskerville, owner of Cabinet Express LLC, a company known for designing the best kitchens and baths in the industry, has a lot to be grateful for.

“Three weeks ago, my third child – my son chase – was born. It’s hard to describe…it’s just awesome! We have three children – Tori our daughter, and Tate and Chase our sons. It’s like our little family is complete now. My wife Danielle and I couldn’t be happier.”

Rocky has much in his life to compete for his attention. In addition to managing a growing cabinet business, he also recently joined Nashville’s ranks as a custom home builder, starting a second company, Newstone Homes LLC. But he is quick to point out that “family is more important than all of it. Family comes first.”

Losing a little sleep isn’t enough to keep Rocky down. When he’s not on the build site, you can still find him working on his first business – building and installing cabinetry. Cabinet Express has been designing and fabricating solid surface and laminate countertops for several years now. Recently, the company has integrated granite, marble and quartz countertops that are being designed and fabricated in the Gallatin facility. “My company offers what I consider a ‘one stop shop.’ We offer builders/homeowners complete package discounts by supplying cabinets, countertops, sinks, tile and hardware at competitive pricing. It takes several different companies to provide what we offer at Cabinet Express.” Baskerville estimates the 6-year old highly successful business is split 50/50 between remodeling and new home kitchen and bath installations.

Many custom builders and homeowners rely on Cabinet Express to stay current with the latest trends in cabinetry. Cabinet Express uses industry standard flatline finishes on their cabinetry. For custom jobs finish processes are composed of 14-16 different applications. “Right now granite is huge,” says Baskerville. “And, quartz is considered the top of the line in stone countertops. They are much harder than granite. They don’t scratch, and they are non-porous so you don’t have to seal it.”

Clients can choose from fine quality cabinets featuring over 25,000 different styles and finishes in the showroom or have Cabinet Express build completely custom cabinets to compliment the interior of their home. “We build our own solid surfaces and granite in-house now so that we can control the pricing. We don’t outsource so that we’re essentially able to sell countertops at wholesale pricing. Within 2-3 months Cabinet Express will be a distributor / stock warehouse where we can deliver full kitchens in 4-5 days from order.”
